Build a New Home for Your Family in the Heart of San Francisco
With just four months left until the end of the first full calendar year of its new building program, the city of San Antonio is building a new, three-story house on the city’s waterfront, its first large-scale construction project in decades.
The house, dubbed “The House That Won’t Sleep,” will be constructed at the corner of Third and Market streets, and will feature two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a living area that will be shared by four people.
It will also have an outdoor pool, gym, and storage space.
The project, which is slated to open this fall, is the latest example of San Antonians embracing the new design standards set by the city as it prepares for its reopening in 2018.
Since 2016, San Antonio has made some significant structural changes to its city limits, including a large-capacity riverfront park, and also added more density in some areas of the city.
The city also recently announced a new program that allows for the construction of new residential structures and apartment complexes that have been converted into mixed-income housing.
With the opening of “The New House,” the city is taking a more proactive approach to planning and construction.
“We’re making significant progress toward making this a more inclusive city, which we hope will encourage more of the public to come into the city and help us continue to create new and more welcoming communities for everyone,” said Mayor Ivy Taylor, in a statement.
“The House that Won’t Work” will be built on the site of a former church that once served as a community center and church for the San Antonio Missions.
The church closed in the late 1970s, and the building is now owned by the church.
It’s currently undergoing renovations.
The new house will be located in a historic neighborhood known as the Riverwalk.
The building, which will be clad in recycled and reclaimed materials, will be made of wood and will include a rooftop deck that will serve as an outdoor living space and pool.
The entire project is expected to take around eight years to complete.
