‘The real story behind the name of a famous Bollywood actor’s new film’
Bollywood film star Shah Rukh Khan’s new movie ‘Jah Ka Saath’ has got some new names, including ‘Bajirao Mastani’, a reference to his character Jahan, the Indian term for the Hindu god of love.
Khan, who plays Jahan in the movie, has been keeping a close watch on the popularity of the film, with many fans calling the new names in a bid to raise awareness.
Kahli Kapoor’s ‘Jagaland’, which is based on the novel by Ramanujan, has also received a new name.
He and Khan’s director Jagdish Tyagi, who is based in India, are also the producers of the movie.
“Bajiraao Mastan is one of my favourite Hindi actors, who I’ve been following for many years,” said the filmmaker, who will be appearing in the film with Khan, Kapoor and other stars including Deepika Padukone.
“I’ve been waiting for this film for so long, and when it was finally released last year, I was very happy,” he said.
“We were very, very happy when it came out.
Now, I am very excited about sharing this story with everyone.
We were all very, VERY happy.”
Khan’s name has also been changed to Kapoor in the title of the forthcoming movie.
The film is based off the novel of the same name by Raman Singh.
The director said he was delighted to have been chosen for the film.
“I was very impressed with how much the name ‘Bajaajoo’ had been spoken about in the past, and I was also impressed with the film that Jahan had become so much popular in India,” he told NDTV.
“So, the name has always been a part of my identity and I think it’s great to be given this opportunity.”
While the new film has already been released in the US, India has been holding a big celebration in Bengaluru on October 10 to celebrate the film’s release.
“There’s been a huge celebration in the state, and this has been the first time we’ve been able to celebrate together,” said Rajiv Mishra, secretary, Bollywood Alliance.
“And we’ve also been able have a dialogue with the fans.”
The new film is also expected to be screened at the Telugu Film Awards on October 11 in Mumbai.
